Have you felt like you just don’t know what you’re doing? Or that you can’t figure out what you are supposed to be doing? We all have, myself included. With the fact that I’m turning 23 next month, my life seems to be so turned upside down. On one hand, I still have friends trying to get through college, others who have graduated, others who are getting married and starting families and some that are kind of like me. Lost, confused, concerned with where the heck our lives are headed. I’ve been feeling like I’m not doing enough, I’m not moving fast enough. So, here’s to the girls who are feeling lost and confused.
This sounds, well, it sounds crazy. How can you possibly try everything? Well, anytime someone says “hey let’s go do this”, do it. You never know what you could be turning down if you don’t. There are so many things you can do, see, hear, play, it’s an amazing thing to be able to give everything a shot. A lot of people will say “this is what college is for” and while yes, this is true. Not everyone goes to college in the traditional sense.
Photography, writing, ziplining, skydiving, fishing, rock climbing, preaching, advocating, social media, everything, and anything can make you passionate, but you’ll never know till you give it a chance.
I personally haven’t really traveled many places, eventually, I plan to but at this moment I live through a coworker of mine. He is one of those people who just travels everywhere, and by himself. He’s been all over Europe, Spain, Puerto Rico, just everywhere it seems. When I asked him why he travels so much he said “I want to do this before I can’t do this” and wow. He’ll be able to tell his children one day that he’s been all over, pass that on, make it a priority to continue to travel. One common thing I find with people who have traveled alot is that they are so much more open-minded about other cultures. In turn, they are so much happier to be home.
Even if you can’t travel across oceans or to other countries, you can still travel in your area, country, state. I’m sure that there is somewhere you haven’t been and the adventure of that can cause some cosmic sized realization!
Figure out what you love and what you’re passionate about.
This one really ties in with the first two because I can’t imagine that after doing those, you wouldn’t know what you love. Here is a few post I found on figuring out what you love!
Find a way to make a life out of them.
The next step to making any of this worth it, to having a life you like, is to make sure that you figure out a way to make your passion a career. Even though we would all like to think that money doesn’t matter, truth is, we all need it to survive and unfortunately, that requires money. There are many ways to make non-traditional things a “job”. Why do you think we have bloggers, travel bloggers, fashion bloggers, book writers, YouTubers, because they didn’t want to have to work your traditional job, so they worked their butts off to make what they loved doing, something that could also pay the bills.
Here is a few post on how to make your passion your career:
To you girls, please know that everyone goes through it. Everyone goes through a period of lost and confused and it’s okay.
I hope these tips helped you in any way.
