Oh my, can y’all believe that Thanksgiving is already here? It’s literally only a few days away and once that’s over, Christmas will be basically here. What are y’all thankful for? I have so much to be thankful this year, seriously. Things were hard, and when it come to the blog, I will say that sometimes it get’s hard, but I always keep going because I know how much I love it. And at the end of day that’s what trully matters to me.
My family doesn’t have a lot of “traditions” really. My mom’s dad passed away around Thanksgiving when I was about 3 years old. When I was growing up I always used to go with my dad’s mom’s family. Which was always a big deal, and was full of food. I don’t really remember it too well, and there aren’t photos, but if I remember correctly we would always go out to the middle of no where town (like seriously middle of nowhere) and my “cousins”, brothers and I would sit and play around in the game room or we’d walk in the wooded area, and when we were a little older we would get on golf carts. It was a very cool area, but I was the only girl so it was always kind of annoying in that sense. After I was about 13 and my grandfather passed away, we stopped going with my grandmother, but that’s a different story for a different day.
What does thanksgiving mean to me?
Thanksgiving to me means family. I think that with such busy lives we lead these days, we don’t really take the time to just be with our families. Obviously like I said before, my family (mom and brothers) doesn’t really do the traditional food and football thing, but even if you’re out with your family at Black Friday sales, or just hanging out, it’s a good time. Thanksgiving should be exactly what it says in the name, a day of giving thanks.
What am I thankful for this year?
This year I am thankful for a ton of things, and there should be a post coming very soon on the things that I am thankful for this. To give a little preview, this year I would have to say my biggest thing I am thankful for is, y’all. Over the last year, I have really started to grow my social media profiles, and have really been getting myself out there more. I have connected with so many different bloggers over the past year, and I am just so thankful for this community that I have been accepted into because I didn’t really know if I would be.
My thoughts on Black Friday
I think there are pro’s and con’s to black Friday. Pro’s: great deals, the good time to spend with family, shopping! Con’s: it starts way too early (like seriously, most places are opening on Thursday!), people take it WAY to serious, and waiting in lines is just awful.
Working on that day
I go back and forth between this one because I defiantly feel like everyone should get that day off. But then I go to Black Friday sales, so it seems hypocritical of me to say that. But I will say this, I don’t think that stores should be opening so early on Thursday, I think they should go back to opening on Friday for sales. I do have to work on that day, and obviously, not everything can close on that day but I think places like retail stores, restaurants, fast food places should be closed. I don’t see why they should except there workers to work. But again, I probably don’t help with this because I still go to sales!
Love, Megan Anne
